Journals: Bi-weekly Communication
Fellows and Teachers are required to submit self-progress reports, program feedback, and general project discussion on a bi-weekly basis. This is the forum for doing this. Your entries will be read by the Program Manager, Paul Allan, the project PI Dave McIlroy, and the external evaluator Leslie Gordon. Your classroom collaborator, whether Fellow or Teacher, will not have access. Please be open in your submissions, allowing us to share in your observations as well as receive valuable feedback about the program. Thanks.
Click on the appropriate link above to access your personal journal. Make sure you label your entries with your name and date. Each two weeks you will respond to the following prompts, adding any other comments you want or sharing concerns you might have. Print a copy of these prompts so you may respond to each while accessing your journal.
Title your entry with the dates for the two-week period. Fellows--provide the number of hours you spent each week in the classroom interacting with students.
Teachers:
· What was the best lesson that the Fellow did these past two weeks and WHY? Describe the lesson briefly using no more than several sentences.
· What problems, if any, did the Fellow have these past two weeks? Why did it happen do you think? How was it solved?
· What challenges did you and your partner have these past two weeks and how were they solved?
· Based on your observations, how do you think students benefited from the project these past two weeks? How do you know? What is your evidence?
· What did you do these past two weeks to formally assess student learning in science and how did it go?
· Do you have any concerns or issues you would like to add?
